The Greenbelt Museum outside Washington, DC has a special exhibit about Lenore Thomas Straus whose sculptures grace the grounds of the Morgan Bay Zendo and the Blue Hill Public Library. Lenore was a WPA artist in the 1930s and was one of Walter Nowick's first zen students in the 1960s. She lived in East Blue Hill the last 20 years of her life and passed away in 1988.
